Boiler Room Fire Reported at English Food Processing Plant

Firefighters quickly extinguished a boiler room fire Monday morning at an English food processing plant, local media report.

“We are currently dealing with an incident on Longmead Industrial Estate in Shaftesbury,” the Dorsett & Wiltshire Fire Rescue Service reports. “Multiple fire engines and an ALF (American LaFrance) are in attendance so the road into the Industrial Estate has been closed.”

At about 11:16 a.m., dispatch receive a call about the fire at Dorset Chilled Foods. Firefighters from Shaftesbury, Gillingham, Yeovil, Tisbury and Warminster were dispatched to the scene.

After a complete evacuation of the plant, firefighters extinguished the fire. Production was later able to resume.
