A massive fire broke out at a Chinese electronics plant Sunday.

Fire swept through a factory specializing in printed circuit boards Sunday in eastern China, local media report.

At about 10:50 a.m., fire broke out on the top floor of the Dingxin factory in Kunshan, Jiangsu province. The company quickly evacuated workers and reported the fire to local authorities.

Witnesses report that a lightning storm was in progress at the time of the fire.

Dingxin is a subsidiary of Xinxing Electronics, a Taiwanese circuit board manufacturer. Dingxin also makes plastic PVC packaging for the safe shipment of circuit boards at its Kunshan site.

The status of any casualties is unknown. The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
