A wildfire Wednesday in eastern Spain threatened to spread to a cement plant in an industrial park.
The wind driven fire, which broke out at noon, was less than an hour away from reaching the LaFargeHolcim plant in the Port de Sagunt area, local media report. Firefighters were able to contain the fire and extinguished it by 4 p.m.
Authorities were concerned that an evacuation might have to be ordered. However, smoke from the fire did force the closure of local roadways.
