Firefighters extinguished a blaze that broke out Wednesday afternoon at a central Missouri wood products company.

At about 1 p.m., Boone County Fire Protection District responders arrived at K and K Wood Products near Centralia to find heavy smoke showing, local media report. Workers had left for lunch, leaving the building unattended.

“Firefighters were able to get the fire stopped without significant loss of property,” the BCFPD Facebook page states.

The fire protection district was assisted by Boone Hospital Center EMS, the Centralia Missouri Police and Centralia Fire Department.

No cause for the fire has been determined.
