Flames gut a warehouse at a boat factory Wednesday in Digoin, France.

A factory specializing in barges and houseboats caught fire Wednesday morning in central eastern France.

At 2:30 a.m., fire broke out in a 1,600 square meter warehouse at the factory in Digoin, Bourgogne-Franche-Comte, local media report. To assist Centre d’Incendie et de Secours 71, a mutual aid response from surrounding rescue centers was deployed that brought the total number of firefighters on site to more than 60.

Firefighters were able to contain the blaze, preventing its spread in the solvent storage facilities. The fire was brought under control within an hour.

At dawn, fire crews were still on scene to prevent the fire from rekindling.

Cause of the fire remains under investigation.
