Responders struggle to extinguish a two-alarm fire at a cardboard box plant in California Sunday night.

A cardboard box factory fire burned more than five hours Sunday night in northern California, requiring nearly 50 firefighters at the scene.

The fire the Georgia Pacific factory in San Leandro on the eastern shore of San Francisco Bay required a second alarm at 11:15 p.m., local media report. More than the first two hours were spent on defensive operations alone.

By 5 a.m., the flames were out. No injuries were reported.

In a press release, Georgia Pacific reports that it plans to resume production at the site Monday morning.

Cause of the fire has yet to be determined.
