An arrest has been made in an October 24 arson that destroyed 120,000 square-meters of textiles and cardboard in northwest France.

The suspect is a 13-year-old minor.

“A 13-year-old minor is being brought before the children’s judge in Le Havre following the fire in the premises of the France Logistique company,” Cyrille Fournier, deputy prosecutor in Le Havre, told French television.

More than 100 firefighters needed more than 24 hours to extinguish the fire in the former Fralib factory, more recently serving as warehouse space. The Fralib factory closed in 1997.

No injuries were reported and no property beyond the plant site threatened. Firefighters evacuated 150 nearby residents out of an abundance of caution.
