Arson and burglary charges have been filed in an October fire that destroyed a historic manufacturing plant in northern Illinois.

Sean Haug, 41, and Lawrence Vieau, 48, were charged in the October 24 Atwood building blaze in Rockford, 87 miles northwest of Chicago. The fire escalated to four alarms, drawing five aerials and eight engine companies in response.

The building, slated for demolition, had been unoccupied since the late 1990s. Portions of the structure collapsed during the fire.

No injuries were reported.
