State controlled media reports that a fire Wednesday in a process unit at a petrochemical plant in southwestern Iran was brought under control within an hour.

Iranian state radio and television broadcaster IRIB stated that the fire at the Abadan Petrochemical Company in Abadan happened when a pipe exploded in a process unit. No injuries were reported.

However, the state news agency IRNA quoted unnamed sources as saying that two workers were hurt.

The petrochemical plant is located next door to the Abadan refinery, one of the largest in the world with a capacity of 635,000 barrels per day.
