Only the four walls of the warehouse at a plastic packaging plant survived a massive fire Tuesday in Apodaca, Mexico, part of the Monterrey metropolitan area.

Photographs later posted to the Bomberos de Nuevo Leon Facebook page shows that the warehouse roof at Grupo REYMA Packaging collapsed into the gutted interior of the building. It is reported that the fire began on the second floor of the warehouse.

Flames were first reported shortly before 9 a.m., forcing at least 60 workers to evacuate the plant. Large quantities of polypropylene plastic stored in the warehouse fed the intense flames, local media reports.

Mutual aid from surrounding communities also responded to the fire.
